On April 2nd the international Jury of the HRD Awards
2015 gathered in Antwerp to review the final selection
and choose the winning design and three finalists. The
results  will be announced during a grand
award ceremony and jewellery show on October 29th
2015 at the World Expo in Milan.
Thirty designers made it to the final selection and
submitted their finished designs for final voting. The
designs were reviewed on various criteria including
their creative conceptualisation, material use,
technical complexity, quality of the finish, use of
diamonds within the design and the relation to
this year’s food related theme “A la Carte”.
“As the jewellery world is dominated by homogenous
brands, it’s rather difficult for emerging designers to
get noticed. The HRD Awards therefore provide a great
opportunity and a vital platform for emerging designers
to create contemporary diamond jewellery that will
stand out from the crowd” explains Joanna Hardy,
Independent Fine Jewellery Specialist.
June, HRD Antwerp is happy to announce visitors to
the HRD Antwerp website are now invited to vote for
their favourite design nominated for the final selection
of the HRD Awards 2015 and determine who will win
the Public Award.
The Public Award is chosen by the general public in
addition to the winner and three finalists chosen by the
professional HRD Awards Jury. The designer who's
design will have the most votes on the HRD Antwerp
website by the end of the public voting procedure on
October 1st, 2015, will win a cash prize of 2500 USD!*
This year, the HRD awards’ theme is “'A LA CARTE
| A Culinary Diamond Journey'”  a food inspired theme
which corresponds to the overall World Expo theme
'Food'. The finished jewellery designs will be on display
at the Belgian Pavilion for the duration of the World
Expo in Milan, which will run from May 1st until
October 31th, 2015.
